Lotion bars are solid with moisturizing benefits for the skin. Because water was not used in this formulation, a preservative was not used. When rubbed between your hands, the heat from your body melts the lotion bar and it can then be applied to your body. It is solid at room temperature.
I am discovering different uses for beeswax in skincare. Beeswax was used in ancient times by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, and Chinese, for candles and medicinal purposes.
The ingredients used in this nourishing rose lotion bar are rose petals, pink rose petals, and rose clay infused in sunflower oil, shea butter, mango butter, beeswax, grapeseed oil, and vitamin e.
After melting the oils and beeswax in a water bath, it was allowed to cool a bit, but still remained a liquid. Then it was poured into a mold and placed in the refrigerator overnight.
Key Ingredient
Beeswax. It is a natural wax produced by bees that does not clog your pores. Great for dry skin because it seals in moisture. Used in homemade soap to make it harder. It is a natural emollient that keeps your skin soft and a humectant that keeps the skin hydrated.
