Christmas is my favorite holiday. It brings back warm memories of my childhood spending time with my family. There was always music playing in the house. And, there was the laughter of my parents and their friends. Thinking of those wonderful times evoked a desire to make a Christmas soap to kick off the season of giving.
Since it is the holiday season, I wanted some red in the soap bars. After the soap was emulsified, I poured 2 ½ cups into two separate containers and left the base uncolored. I poured 1 tbsp of rose clay powder in the first container and ½ tsp of turmeric powder in the second container and blended. I poured the base color in the mold first. Then I poured the blend with the rose clay on top of the base then used a hanger swirl tool. I topped it off with the turmeric color.
What is Rose Clay?
Rose clay is a mild kaolin clay that exfoliates removing dead skin cells, while also helping to draw out toxins in the skin. It doesn’t strip the skin of its natural oils. Good for normal to dry skin.
What is Turmeric?
Turmeric is a plant with medicinal properties that has been around for more than 4,000 years. It is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties that helps the skin’s ability to form new tissue. Turmeric helps to brighten the skin and help with some skin issues. It also has antiaging properties helping to boost collagen production, as well as moisturizing dry skin. Turmeric is also used in food products such as yellow cakes.
