In this post I am experimenting with making a nourishing hair oil with a few ingredients. The herbs (coltsfoot, horsetail, nettle, and sage) were infused in olive oil. I wanted to get the medicinal properties of the herbs. I used dry herbs and chose olive oil for the infusion because of the oil’s long shelf life.
A hair oil is a great addition to your haircare regimen because it can help to improve the health of your hair. It helps to moisturize and soften the hair while preventing split ends and hair breakage.
Hair oil nourishes the hair, strengthens the hair, and stimulates hair growth. The oil can be applied on your hair at night before bed. Wrap your hair, and you will wake up in the morning with your hair feeling hydrated.
Key Ingredients
Coltsfoot repairs the hair shaft, improves hair elasticity, and promotes growth. Coltsfoot has silica which helps to strengthen hair and prevent thinning.
Horsetail is anti-inflammatory, nourishing, and good for dry hair. Because it is anti-inflammatory, it helps to prevent hair loss.
Nettle is rich in silica, stimulates the scalp, and reduces hair loss.
Sage has anti-inflammatory properties. Aids in the regeneration of hair follicles and can help to reduce hair loss.
Baobab Oil comes from the Baobab tree in Africa and penetrates deep into the hair follicles. It adds moisture to your hair. The omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids helps with hair loss and dry hair.
Black Jamaican Castor oil moisturizes and thickens your hair preventing hair breakage.
