I have been wanting to make a natural edge control cream for my hair for quite some time. You see, I have flyaway hair. What’s flyaway hair? It is those unruly hairs that stick up and will not lay down.
It has been said that flyaway hair is the result of chemical damage, hair breakage, overly washed hair, etc. Whatever the reason, they will grow out over time. It is just that I have just been waiting too long for that to happen.
Since applying this cream on my hair, I have been happy with the results. For the most part, the “flyaways” have been tamed using this product, so it is now part of my haircare regimen, but this formulation needs to be perfected.
The ingredients are sunflower oil (infused with red clay, red rose petals, and pink rose petals), black castor oil, and candelilla wax. The oils and wax were heated. Once melted the ingredients were poured into a jar to cool.
Key Ingredient:
Candelilla Wax. We get candelilla wax from the candelilla plant that is native to Mexico. A hard, brittle yellow to tan wax. It is a thickening and hardening agent. It is a vegetable wax, so it is vegan. Soluble in oils, but insoluble in water.
Candelilla wax is good to use in hair and skincare products, helping to retain moisture. It is nourishing and has anti-inflammatory properties to calm the skin.
